A medieval Cistercian monastery Zlatá Koruna
A picturesque Cistercian monastery of Zlatá Koruna is situated on a rocky promontory surrounded by the Vltava River from three sides, just 10 minutes away from Český Krumlov. It is one of the most valuable complexes of Gothic architecture in Central Europe. The monastery buildings are mostly medieval, some of their parts were modified in the Baroque style. You have about half an hour for a guided tour of its exteriors.
(UNESCO) - Peasant Baroque architecture Holašovice
The level of preservation of the original Peasant Baroque style was recognized by UNESCO by including Holašovice in the World Cultural Heritage List. Holašovice and Český Krumlov are the only two South Bohemian monuments which are included in this list. The Holašovice village is the most representative and the most well-preserved example of traditional folk building design and its current appearance documents the appearance of a typical South Bohemian village from the first half of the 19th century. However, it is not an open-air museum, but a normal village with permanently inhabited buildings. The guided tour takes almost half an hour.
ChateauHluboká nad Vltavou
One of the most popular castles of the Czech Republic, originally a royal castle, became after many alterations the property of the House of Schwarzenberg in 1661. The current appearance of the chateau area, including the park and the surrounding countryside, was inspired by the travels of Prince Jan Adolf II. Schwarzenberg to Great Britain. The main source of inspiration to the rebuilding of the former Baroque chateau was the Windsor royal chateau. With our guide you will explore Hluboká in great detail. You will also have one hour of leisure time here, which you can use as you want. It is up to you whether you choose to have a lunch or you prefer a tour of the interiors of the chateau (the admission fee is not included in the price of the trip). You will spend two enjoyable hours at Hluboká.
Historic centreČeské Budějovice
The historic centre of the town consists of a square with the biggest fountain in the Czech Republic with 17 meters of diameter. The town was founded more than 750 years ago by king Přemysl Otakar II. as a symbol of his power in South Bohemia. If you have already been to the town centre, try to take a walk there with our guide, as well. Maybe you will discover places, which you haven’t noticed before and which will be new and surprising for you. České Budějovice will enchant you. Get absorbed in our guide’s narrative. It is definitely worth it. České Budějovice is also a cradle to the Budweiser Budvar brewery – have a beer in the famous Masné krámy restaurant. The tour takes 1 hour.
České BudějoviceNáměstí Přemysla Otakara II.
After the tour of the historic centre the trip ends in the central square of České Budějovice. From here you can easily return to your hotel. Or maybe you will go to Masné krámy for one more beer? We believe you enjoyed the trip and perhaps you will also try Trip A or Trip C maybe the very next day?
